Commitment to Child Safety Under POCSO Act

The integrity and worth of a society are not defined by the absence of child sexual abuse cases but by its willingness to confront and address them. While these cases do exist, they are buried in silence because of the discomfort and stigma attached to acknowledging such realities. The
POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act), enacted in 2012 in India, serves as a comprehensive legal framework to protect children from sexual abuse, exploitation, and harassment.


On 4th September 2024, Ela Green School established a dedicated POCSO Committee, supported by seven sub-committees. This team works dedicatedly to maintain a secure, supportive space for children. The team addresses the shame and silence surrounding sexuality and builds the capacity of adults and children to recognise and respond to sexual violence in empowering ways. Committee members work collaboratively to foster community, enhance social and emotional learning, and address harm constructively. POCSO Committee Members:
